About Me
Kelly Thielen
I started my working career in a family style fish restaurant. I jumped around to a few places before returning to my first job. I quickly became the youngest manager there. Even back then, I loved the industry and especially the kitchen, I just needed the schooling to become a chef.

In 2015, my then fiancé, pushed me to go to school. I attended The Art Institute in the culinary program for a year and a half, then I was denied a loan for the second half. I took a couple of cake decorating classes and discovered I liked decorating as much as cooking. Soon after, I found an online culinary program. I was surprised at how well online schooling worked and actually taught (in some ways better) a lot for a certificate program. I graduated with honors in 2017. I consider myself a well-rounded chef. A lot of my knowledge is self-taught through textbooks, recipe books, magazines, and videos online.
I was married in 2018 and am still working at my day job. I also have aI love to challenge myself with new techniques and I am always learning. My ultimate goal is to earn enough to purchase a food truck.
